Calcine was an exploratory short film project that started as an unscripted passion project.

Calcine was originally the result of footage from two different shoots laid on top of each other which revealed a visual unification of the male and female anatomy and the esoteric roles between masculine and feminine. My interest and studies in mysticism, the occult, and largely inspired by the book The Kybalion became the bedrock and inspiration. The book outlines seven principles of alchemical law that governs the universe and unlocks a sacred wisdom in human seekers.

The graphical challenge of creating Calcine was laborious- including a custom designed font face called Tikal which came as the result of me realizing nothing else pre-existing would fit the look I wished to achieve. The sound and audio design were also their own unique challenges, employing both original audio design and original music by Billy Eyeball.
